Our Programs & Classes
Students and enthusiasts of Tang Soo Do have many reasons for their interest in this and other martial art
styles. Some are drawn to the physical fitness and weight-loss aspects of training. Others seek to add discipline
and self control to their lives. While still others are concerned about safety and self-defense.
Our unique and popular martial arts class has proven to be an effective medium to instill leadership qualities and goal-oriented
activities in our students. We adhere to six words, which are frequently recited in our class: respect, integrity, self-control, effort,
unity and perseverance. Our high-energy class stresses the importance of self-defense, while emphasizing the need for self-discipline.
Whether you are interested in our programs for mental or physical well being, Cutting Edge Karate offers a

After School Karate Enrichment
Students are taught techniques in kicks, punches, blocks, grabs, and locks. Equally important to this class is the
stress placed on when, where, and how martial arts is to be used, which is where our Stranger Danger programs comes in. The Stranger
Danger program teaches students awareness and prepares them for a possible encounter with a stranger. The students learn that the
purpose of martial arts is self-defense, not self-offense, and that we do not use karate on our friends, parents, teachers, or even
furniture. Each student begins at a white belt level and progresses to a new belt each session. The students must earn three stripes on their
belts, red, white, and blue, in order to be eligible to test. Each stripe represents particular karate techniques appropriate to their rank.
